Exact Radiology clinics employ the latest low-dose Computerised Tomography (CT) Technology in order to provide the most accurate results for the benefit of our referring doctors and patients.

A Computerised Tomography Scanner (CT) uses an x-ray beam that revolves around the patient to produce a cross sectional image known as a ‘slice’.

Modern CT Scanners use multi slice technology which means many fine slices may be taken of the patient as they enter the CT scanner in a single rotation, with the processing of the data resulting in a reconstruction of the image from any angle. This means that 3D images may be produced and assist in the formulation of a diagnosis.

A CT scan measures the relative densities of structures in your body, those with low density such as air in the lungs are displayed as black and those with very high density such as bone are displayed in white.

Computerised Tomography is an excellent medical tool used to detect a whole range of disorders and can be used to scan most parts of the body. In particular it is used in the diagnosis of chest, abdominal and pelvic disorders, including the bowel and lungs as well as producing images of the arteries (known as an angiogram). Low Dose CT is a suitable modality for sophisticated injection procedures.
